Today I would like to take a few minutes to talk about a great music site called AmieStreet.com. Amie Street has a unique business model for selling music. Artists can upload music to the site, which can then be downloaded for free by users. As tracks become popular, Amie Street starts to charge for it and the band get's a cut of the profit. So if you are like me and you enjoy discovering new music, AmieStreet.com is a great way to download some good music for very little money. Don't get me wrong Amie Street also has some popular mainstream artist that like the site as well. You can pick up Vampire Weekend's self-titled album for $9.98 which I believe is the most you will pay for a full album on Amie Street. All downloads are in DRM-FREE MP3 format so they will work with any digital audio player like the iPod or Zune.
