Tomorrow (Friday May 22) at 1:30pm in MEB243, Victor Miller is going
to speak in Math 583 about computing pi(x) = # primes up to x.
When at IBM in 1983, Victor invented and implemented the fastest
practical algorithm for computing pi(x). In this talk, he'll explain
how this happened, why, and explain something about the relevant data
structures.
