The presentation schedule for talks on your projects this week is
given below. You'll have about 10 minutes to talk, including getting
ready. If you want to use a computer to be faster, that's fine -- you
might even want to give me a pdf ahead of time.
Definitely don't worry that you have to tell me everything about your
topic in 10 minutes! You'll also have a paper that you'll hand in,
which will have much more details. The point of your talk is to:
- state what your final project paper is on (you might state a
definition or definitions here).
- explain something about why this topic was so interesting to you,
i.e., why did you decide on this topic when so many others were
available?
- briefly mention any surprises are especially exciting things you ran into.
Think of this as a sort of "advertisement" to get the other students
in class to be interested in reading your paper. Formally, since I
didn't mention the presentation on the syllabus, I will _not_ base
your final project grade on the quality of your presentation. That
said, a good presentation will probably make it much easier for me to
understand and appreciate your final project when I do grade it.
