Hi,

I mentioned in class yesterday that I had never been able to build
MongoDB (and all dependencies) from source. After some discussion
with Martin yesterday, I figured out how to do this. If you get the
four packages at

http://purple.sagemath.org/packages/optional/mongodb/

and build them (mongodb has to built last), then it may work for you.
I tested these on OS X 10.6 and Ubuntu Linux 8.04.
