I will give a number theory seminar this Friday at 3:30pm in Padelford C401.
TITLE: Q(sqrt(5)) is the new Q
SPEAKER: William Stein (UW)
ABSTRACT: I will talk further about elliptic curves and modular forms
over Q(sqrt(5)). I will do some of the following:
(1) give an example,
(2) say something about the analogue of modular curves over Q(sqrt(5)),
(3) say more about what is involved in an algorithm to compute
modular forms over Q(sqrt(5)).
The main prerequisite for this talk will be "algebraic number theory".
