Hey,
This is like 70% just for Gal Bet peeps, but in some ways connected to a larger picture, so here goes...

I need to know whether we want to have a 58 rep (and back up rep) on the Mercaz Conference calls. They are a space to update the movement about what our kvutzah is up to, hear what's going on in eizorim, va'adot and with other kvutzot in North America. It is a pretty low-level commitment since it's only a call once a month, sending out notes, plus making sure you know what's going on with 58 peeps, which hopefully will be happening anyway, but may require a couple sichot here and there.

Reasons I see to do it:
- I think our Gal Aleph/Gal Bet structure is a new path and that it could be a valuable way to make sure that people across the movement see that Garin aliyah can look really different based on the needs and wants of the group
- Many individuals in Gal Bet ARE still doing things that involve active engagement with the movement and this could be another important way to stay linked in with what's going on

There are certainly ways that the call would be less relevant for many of us now than it would have been a few years ago based on where we're at though, so I want to hear what other people think.

I should also be clear that the rep can't be me because I have to be on it in a facilitating/Maz Artz capacity and we should only have a rep if other people see it as a valuable thing to do for our kvutzah/for the movement and if someone is willing to do it.

I need to know our answer by early next week, so let's talk! :)

Chag sameach l'kulam!

Not sure about weather people think it's relevant for our kvutsah to have a voice/seat/whatever on the mercaz, but if So I'm willing to do it. I'm pretty involved in gilboa stuff in a way younger people are not, so that may be a good reason (plus any excuse to hang out with Zlil more is delightful), but Also, if i were there in a capacity somewhat representing the garin I think that would encourage me a little to engage more actively with y'all. I have a tendency to only be emotionally and mentally present where I am also actually physically present, so this might provide a little added responsibility for me to do so.

I also agree that we should be represented there. There are a good number of us in gal bet who have some kind of movement tafkid/responsibility right now which I think is amazing, and whether we mean for it to or not, sends a strong message about what life after graduation can look like (ie hagshama post university and for some of us pre israel).

Thanks for stepping up zev, I think it would be great for you to be there! Also, I think it would be cool if before mercaz meetings you were able to touch base with the garin and with those of us doing movement work and other things in the states so that you could rep the different paths we are forging if it becomes applicable.

I think it would be awesome if you do it Zev! We still need a back up, in case he is unavailable. Any takers?
