A book

Hello everybody, 

I just finished reading Everything Is Illuminated and it made me think of our class. It is very "Jewish" not only because most of the characters are jewish, but because it tells family stories  that are constantly being edited by different people and there is no proof that they really happened, but families continue to tell these stories and they become their history. I highly recommend it! (by the way, the movie is also entertaining, but they eliminated an entire story line, and therefore it is simpler).

I loved the book, Racheli.  At first, I didn’t want to like it – but then I found myself dreaming about it and thinking about going back to my mother’s family’s shtetl in Belarus.  I couldn’t get it out of my head – and it’s funny too!
