After three years of study and contemplation, my Bet Din convenes this coming Sunday morning, after which I will immerse in the mikvah waters and emerge, officially, as a Jew.

So, who wants to party? ;)

I'm thinking a late lunch at Noah's Bagels in Hillsdale (6366 Southwest Capitol Highway) would be appropriate -- shall we say 1:30 p.m.?

(I'm guessing I'll be done at the mikvah in the neighborhood of 12:30 - 1 p.m.)

(Why Noah's? Because Kenny & Zuke's is a madhouse on Sundays, and because it's close to Everything Jewish.)

No, you don't have to be Jewish to come have a bagel. No, I will not suddenly speak and understand Yiddish. Yes, my hair will probably still be wet.

I'd love to have you join me to help celebrate this special day!

p.s. -- To my Jewish Book Club friends, I'm still planning on being at our gathering on Monday evening (though I likely won't have finished the book!), so Sunday afternoon isn't the only opportunity to celebrate.

I’m embarrassed to say that I’m not sure who you are, but I know you’re in my Yesod class! Mazel tov, on the early side! I don’t think I’ll make it to celebrate with you, but I am cheering for you! Let’s introduce ourselves next class! I just realized that my use of !!!! Looks a little silly, but I am genuinely enthusiastic for your impending conversion.

Oh, Jennifer, that's wonderful! I think we'll have to introduce ourselves tonight as well. I think you were in my skeptics class with Deborah. I won't be able to come because I can't sit for any length of time, but I will be there in spirit. Congratulations!
