55 NDA Course Reunion Announcement: 16 to 18 December 2016

Gentlemen who have affixed the badge representing 55th NDA course on a particular collar on your KDs,

There has been much anticipation as we have been assembling across various course gatherings across the Country over the past year and a half on the possibility of a course NDA renion, reasonably discussed and debated. 

We, finaly have some news. The 2016 ‘FIFTY FITH NDA REUNION’  is confirmed. We muster on 16th Dec 2016 at Pune for the reunion at NDA, Khadakvasla. It is rare opportunity to meet ‘all course mates together' under one roof and that too in Khadakvasla.  

The 'formal approval’ was received thanks to the efforts of 'a few' allowing the the 55-NDA REUNION to be held from the 16th of December to 18th December 2016. This is going to be an ‘EPIC EVENT' for three days for all of us accompanied with betterhalves and the spouses of our departed friends. The significance of the date (16 December 1978 when the colours were received) cannot be lost on anyone of us. We are lucky that we have tbeen able to capture that very date. 

Detailed Instructions will follow on how all of us can be on one email group and a suitable mobile app (Telegram - google it and get on it) so that information is freely and speedily shared. Please inform those of us who are not in any of our groups to join in now. 

We look forward to hearing suggestions and ideas that could make this event seamless and fun, if you wish to be part of the organising committee, reception committee or event committee please send your interest, it will be surely appreciated. As there is plenty of work and if all of us share, it will help have a grand event. If you are unable to do so and we understand, please do reach out to those who will need your support. 

To start, the event organising committee has a starting committee who have been working for a while to get this done. We will need squadron, reception and event volunteers so that most of us can share the tasks to make it enjoyable for all. The starting commitee members are:

• VP Singh (JAKRIF) - Serving Officer Reunion Vice Captain (Corps Commander in Southern Command)
  
• Vijay Pande- Serving Officer in SC, Pune (MG ADM)
  
• MM Sharma- NDA Chief Coordinating Officer
  
• Satish Vaidya- Chief Coordinator Pune and Financial Committee
  
• VP Singh (Ordinance) and PK Shekhar- All IT Support and Web based services 
  
• Harish  Kumar, JS Balutagi - Financial Committee with Satish Vaidya
  
• Coffee Table Book Editor in Chief- Pratap Nair, Vimal Banja and Ashwini.
  

Squadron Reps- Volunteers needed (please intimate or will be nominated ;-). I am told that Charlie Sqn has already got their act going.......

The event details being worked out and will be intimated in the days ahead. Tentative Outline is as under of for a three day event at NDA:

• Day One: Arrival Thursday evening/Friday Morning by 10 am at Hotel in Pune (at this stage we will all stay in a hotel in Pune as reunions alumni are not allowed to stay in NDA campus as before, as per latest policy) - Visit NDA after lunch and Social Evening 
• Day Two; Saturday- All Day events in NDA, early breakfast at Cadets Mess, Lunch at Peacock Bay followed by entertainment and Reunion Dinner at Cadets Mess and Jam Session
• Day Three: Sunday - Departure after Lunch. 
  

(Those who wish to arrive early and depart later, we will try to see if this can be arranged with the hotel also). 

We need a 100% Muster Call without any ATTEND C’s.  We all have been waiting for this for over three decades to have a Course Jam Session with all coursemates together at NDA Khadkvasla after so many decades, here is that chance now. Lock the days and dates.

Please read this part carefully as this is important : For those who are not in this initial Organising Committee , we would appreciate your promptness, accuracy and support  in providing timely information so that organising committed volunteers are not inconvenienced sending reminders etc. Better cohesiveness and support provided for requests made will make the reunion seamless. If we are mindful of the work at hand….and being just being thoughtful would make the task of the dedicated team of selfless people easier. So please help where and when you can. 

Volunteers Needed: Am sure most of us appreciative of those who have volunteered to be part of the Organising Committee and if you feel you wish to contribute in some way specifically please send your request to me or Vijay.

Each one of us is blessed  to have been part of the 'Fantabulous 55 NDA Bunch’ made  of  gentlemen, boys, rogues and most of all boys who all have stood and stand together. Now as one group for one final time let us have a major gathering in the afternoon of our lives… May we all remain blessed and well for years to come…Keep Smiling , watch this space for more instructions and details  on the Reunion to follow.
