         This is with ref to the Re-Union we have planned in Dec 2016. I had attended the 56^th Course Re-Union held in Dec 2014, and hence would like share some pts and issues so that they can be ironed out now.

 

Firstly, all of us have to become members of the NDA Alumni Association (NDAAA). Non members are debarred from participating in the Re-Unions. It is quite easy to become a member, one can do it on line too. The NDAAA website is http://www.nda.nic.in/ndaaa/index.php   and just fill in the forms, up load your photos pay the initial subs online and that’s it. You will get a NDAAA Card delivered by Speed Post. However for this you have to remember your NDA (Acadeny No.)… Pulak Bhuyan, hope you have noted it down somewhere easily forgettable. The email id of the Secretary of the NDAAA is  secy-...@nic.in   Pl contact him in case of complaints/doubts.

 

Course Re-Union Coordinator.       We will have to nominate a Course Re-Union Coordinator, whose basic task will be to Liaise with the NDA and all Course mates. A very onerous task, preferably, he should be loc in Pune. I suggest Col Jayant Pendse. In the 56^th Course it was Col Jayant B Kadhilkar (Sigs), who did a fantastic job. The tasks of the Coordinator would be to:-

            (a)       Liaise with the Col A/AAG for finalization of the  Pgme.

            (b)       Liaise with the MTO, Catering Offr, Mess Secy, for the Bill of Fare as well as expdr likely to be incurred for meals, and parties.

            (c)        Finalisation of the Re-Union Pgme in consult with the coursemates.

            (d)       Obtain details of all coursemates attending with details of spouses and choice of food.

            (e)       Obtain Details of Foreign Coursemates who are attending and share this info with The NDA, so that MI Clearances are obtained well in time.

            (f)        To open a Bank Acct at SBI NDA K’Wasla. Acct to be op by two pers.

            (g)       Help out those facing difficulty in obtaining the NDAAA Card/membership.

Our Course Coordinator can contact Jayant B Khadilkar on tele No +919545514408 . I have spoken to him and he is expecting a call from one of us.

 

Finalisation of The Pgme.    The pgme is reqd to be finalized at the earliest. I am att the Pgme, which was initially made out for 56 NDA. We can discuss and finalise it.

 

Chief Guest .       Invitation to a Chief Guest needs to be thought of. Vice Adm MP Awati, PVSM, VrC was the Chief Guest for the 56^th Course. Possibly we could invite AVM MB Naik, our First Comdt, as Maj Gen (later Lt Gen) RK Jasbir Singh, is no more. No, it will be incorrect to invite Ms Ira Singh, even though, most amongst us, had a crush on her at that pt in time.

 

Coffee Table Book.     The 53^rd  and the 56^th courses have produced  lovely Coffee Table Books giving out details of all coursemates. We too, should go in for a similar Coffee Table Book for the 56^th course and someone has to take on this job. The cost of the coffee table book will have to be shared by all of us. Alternately, if any one of us could sponsor it, it would meet the Reqmt. Col David Devashayaham, of 56 Course fully sponsored it then.

 

Contribution by Reunion Courses to Corpus / Fund.  Reunion Courses are often desirous of presenting a trophy / mementos to the NDA.  Though it is welcome, NDA is not in position to maintain the same due to constraints of security and adequate display space. Keeping in mind the sentiments of the Course, it was suggested that the Reunion Courses instead provide a Corpus Fund, wherein the amount could be optimally utilized as per the charter drawn for the NDAAA.

 

Joining Instrs.      I am att a copy of the 56^th Course Joining Instrs, and Revised Joining Instrs, which has the pgme too. We may delete the Lunch and Dinner at Dy Comdt’s and Comdt’s Resi respectively, as 56^th Course case was a rarity, with both the Comdt  and Dy Comdt from the same Course. Picnic at the Peacock Bay may be incl.

 

Mementos and Take Aways/Gifts.                        Col AKRC Dutta, SIKH LI, was resp for the same, and he can be contacted on +919552388762. In fact Col Dutta’s son was roped in to compile and make out the Coffee Table Book.

 

We can rope in Lt (IN) Sidhartha Iyer, Div Offr, Mike Sqn as the Course Lubricator, to help us resolve knotty issues with the NDA, if any. He is Col Murli's (K/55), son.

Dear Ash and Mandy,

Great Going and looking forward to our Reunion Meeting ( sadly Ash will be missed) but the rest of us can discuss this on this Sunday conference call so that we get most aspects covered on the day, am staying at the Hyatt ( near the Airport and am self sufficient for transport ) must finish as much as we can by going on an onsite visit on 02nd Morning to NDA.
