Hello Mates.

I never heard back from my email requesting details of the damage to the refrigerator door and the lower walk drawers.

I spent an hour this morning researching and calling the Frigidaire parts department. The good news is they can still make the part. The bad news is they have to make the entire door - just the door liner is not available. So, the door has to be ordered and made (I got the part number from the CSR) at a cost of 235.00 plus shipping, etc.. and if ordered today will not ship until Sept. 20th ish. Also keep in mind that it may not match the freezer door since this is a 2012 model.

The question is…do we address this with Nicole and let her handle it…. or order and install ourselves? I am happy to place the order but I’m not signing up to remove and install the doors.

Thoughts?

As for the broken drawer panels, I guess Nicole’s team will repair and charge us for it at the end of the season.

Finally, what is the status for the screen door repair? ….David have you made contact with someone or do I need to talk with Terri (Nicole’s assistant at Kikico)? She is the one that emailed me about the roof leak.

I look forward to your prompt replies so I can move on to other things. Thanks!

Keith

Hi Keith

I thought the plan re: the screen door was that it was going to be added to the list of requests being put together by Chris Rawlins for Nicole.

Re: the fridge - I have no idea - although I do remember that last season there was a similar issue. Why not just try crazy glue for now?

Dave

Keith, if you don't mind perhaps you should put the request together for Nicole since you are most up-to-date with the issues, i.e. I have not seen the damage to the refrigerator or the drawers in the bedroom. Thanks,

Chris

My vote is to let Nicole and her staff handle all needed repairs, ex. the grill... but we will take her recommendations of folks that can clean/service it.

David has taken responsibility for the screen door, so once that's fixed by Nicole's folks, he can reimburse the House.

My two cent...

Ok, just wanted to clarify about the screen door. Just wanted to make sure we were not working against your efforts.

Unfortunately glue will not solve the problem. In the past the “bin rail” has popped off or even broken- but easily replaced. In this case, the part of the door liner that holds the rail is torn out of the liner and missing so there is nothing to glue.

While we speak of repairs, does anyone know when the left front burner of the stove went out? I cannot turn the knob at all so the burner is dead.
The grill works but the knobs have been screwed up a bit. We need to get and replace the gas jets and they just slip into place also should replace the flavor bars. That is an expensive grill and we need to be careful with the knobs!
It seems to me that we've had more damage this year than usual in the house, we need to be more careful.

Hi guys

My comments:
  • I wasn't aware the fridge was broken either.  Last year, someone broke the fridge shelf before our week.  Chris ordered and repaired the fridge door last year, and we did not ask Nicole to pay for it.  Keep in mind anything like that will come out of our deposit and could cost more if she does it than us doing it.
  • I wasn't aware of the drawers, but I think the drawers in ALL the rooms are messed up (Upper Pool lower drawers have NEVER worked).  I'm not sure it's worth raising to her as they're super cheap, but up to you guys.  If you do ask her, you might frame it as something that's been a problem for a long time not something that just happened.

Hey guys,

So the grill turns on, but does it heat past 250 degrees? Alex and I were trying to use it this weekend and it was not heating up passed 200.

We cooked chicken breasts last night and the heat was ok, but all of the jets don’t work.

Unfortunately this damage is different. If the “rail” was broken it would be a simple fix, but what holds the rail was torn out of the liner and is gone so there is nothing there to repair…and the broken drawer panels are on the built in “linen press” not the free standing dressers which are cheap and falling apart.

While I'm in the lower walk room I'm unfamiliar with the broken drawers. I use the stand alone dresser.

David and I are in the lower Walk as well and when I moved in last week all I did was open the drawers and both wooden panels from the top drawer and the middle drawer fell on the floor. If you look at it closely you will see a bunch of old glue on the sides that must of been holding them together. It appeared to me that this has been broken for awhile and then fixed with a lot of glue. However, after the awful humidity heat and rain it caused the wood to swell, so when I went to open the drawers they got caught on the side and became unglued.  Next time I am out I can glue them back if y’all want.

Best,
