application for rent reduction

Thank you for starting this group, it's been good to see I'm not the
only unhappy camper. I've been living here for over 2 years, and ever
since the recent construction began, have had a leak (which has since
stopped) and subsequent water damage and mildew. Remi came to look at
it, and asked me to file a work order. I filed two work orders which
were ignored, I have left countless messages with Marley at Janoff &
Olshan which were never returned, and have filed two complaints with
311. I still have had no response from J&O.

I will be sending a letter to J&O about my individual apartment
situation as well as the decrease in services in the building as
suggested on this site. I spoke to someone at DHCR 718-739-6400.
They said if after 10 days of sending this letter certified mail I
still do not get a response, I can apply for a reduction in rent.

Good luck to us all, especially since J&O seems to have gotten their
work permits in order!
