NHC 2011 Club Night
Hi, my name is Roger Morrissey and I am the Club Night Coordinator for the 2011 National Homebrewers’ Conference being held in San Diego. You are listed with the American Homebrewers’ Association as the contact person for 5280 Fermentation Society so I am writing to invite you and your club to reserve a table for Club Night. Please confirm with us that you are, or are not, the correct contact person so we can make a note of it in our records. If you are not the contact person for 5280 Fermentation Society and you know who is, please let us know and forward this email on to them.
This year’s event is looking to be one of, if not the, biggest National Homebrewers’ Conferences to date! With an estimated turnout of 1500+ this would be a great opportunity for your club to share its beer. Come show off what you’ve brewed and see what your fellow homebrewers have come up with.
Talk it over with your club and let us know if you plan on sharing your beer with us at Club Night. As things progress we will be contacting those clubs that have expressed an interest in pouring at Club Night, and working out the details such as space requirements, equipment needs, and getting your beer to the venue. While we know it is hard for some clubs to bring their beer from long distances, we also hope that clubs from across the country will do their best to participate. Maybe a nice, friendly East Coast vs. West Coast IPA battle?
We on the Club Night Committee will do our best to make this night as much fun as we possibly can. We anticipate a special award or two being handed out during the event; one of the current ideas, and one that has been done in the past, is Best Club Theme. In the past some clubs have been pretty creative with their theme ideas, so consider this a challenge! Another idea in the works is a Peoples’ Choice Award for the Best Hoppy Beer to go along with this coming year’s NHC theme, “Some Like It Hoppy”.
