🥳 Racers and volunteers - thanks for sailing in and helping run another awesome Cinco de 5oh regatta! We had 12 boats out and ran 8 races in the full range of conditions (variable and light Saturday and 15-25 on Sunday). It was another fun one for the books!

See results here (Final Scores tab) - let me know if anything is incorrect! I've highlighted the throw out and any DNS/DNF finishes.

A HUGE THANK YOU to ChrisP & Anne, and Blaine, for the use of your powerboats - we couldn't have pulled of the regatta without you! 🙌 Thank you to Brian, Kevin, Daniel, Dillon, Benji, Ben, and Curran for running races both days - you guys are awesome and were able to get 8 races completed in challenging wind conditions. Jon, thanks for being the bearer of hot pizza and cold beer. Miles & Elsa (and Juno), thanks for hosting the party at your house!

Miles & I agreed that whoever won the regatta would have to write the regatta report, so stay tuned 😉.

Looking forward to the next one!

Cheers,
Courtney

Thank you Courtney and to all the others helping to put this event on.  It was fun for us to come back to sail in Bellingham – first time since before the Covid pandemic!

I am sorry that we couldn’t sail all the races on Sunday – we could see that you were all having a blast out there.    Unfortunately Charles knee was done after the first race and after that he couldn’t get out on the trapeze safely and without a deal of pain.  Not the day for having the crew limited to sitting on the tank!

I hope that many of you will come to Vancouver for the Kitsilano Yacht Club’s annual Kits Invitational on July 6-7!  This year’s event is also designated as the 505 Canadian Championships so it would be great to get our American friends to come and sail with us on beautiful English Bay.    Please let me know if you are considering coming and we can start to help with info about accommodation etc.   More info to come soon.

Cheers

Cynthia (& Charles)
