Hey Everyone!

☀️Cinco de 5o5 is next weekend! It's time to register and make plans to spend an awesome weekend in Bellingham!

NOR and SIs: See attached PDF.

Registration: Check out who has already signed up, and if you're not on the list, please take a moment to register here.

Waiver: CBC requires that all regatta participants sign their waiver. Please complete this as part of your registration, or do the paper version on Saturday morning.

Storage: If you need storage before Friday/after Sunday, please let us know in advance so we can coordinate with the CBC.

Schedule:
Saturday, May 4, 2024

  • 1000-1030 Registration/Check-in
  • 1030 Competitor’s Meeting
  • 1130 First Warning
    • Additional races will follow the completion of the first race.

Social event and debrief following racing. Miles & Elsa have graciously offered to host the party at their house!

Sunday, May 5, 2024

  • 0930 Meeting ashore with format TBD (clinic or racing + coaching)
  • No warning signal will be made following 1500 on Sunday

Volunteers needed!

  • Saturday RC: Bryan Savery and Kevin have volunteered to help run RC (we need two more volunteers for mark boat). ChrisP has offered his crabbing boat and I plan to ask the CBC if we can charter their rib for one day (unless we find a PRO for Sunday).
  • Sunday RC: I have not been able to find a PRO for Sunday. Unless someone wants to skip sailing for a day and run races, I think we should keep it simple and set a windward mark and run rabbit starts off of the outfall buoy.

Blaine/Miles/Elsa - let me know if any revisions to the schedule or plan are needed.

Let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to kicking off the 2024 sailing season!

Sounds great, Courtney! I’m stoked! I think rabbit starts on Sunday sounds like a good plan.

REGATTA UPDATES:

I heard back from the CBC regarding the mark boat charter and storage options for boats coming from out of town.

Storage

  • If you are bringing your boat from out of town for the regatta and want to store it inside the CBC gate, please let me know. The CBC requires some paperwork to be filled out along with a fee of $20/night. If you are fine with keeping your boat outside the CBC gate, paperwork and the fee isn't required, however be aware this area is not secured.

RC Boats

  • ChrisP is bringing a boat up that we can use for RC. The CBC's rib is unavailable for charter so we currently do not have a mark boat. Does anyone have a large rib or whaler that we could use on Saturday for mark boat?

If you plan to sail, please take a few minutes to register here.

Thanks!

Courtney
