Liebe Segler*innen,
Die Pandemie lässt uns nicht los und eine Verschiebung der Kieler Woche, was vergangenes Jahr historisch einmalig erschien, ist nun auch in diesem Jahr unumgänglich.
Wir müssen gemeinsam unser aller Möglichstes dazu beitragen, dass die dritte Welle möglichst flach ausfällt. Aufgrund der steigenden Infektionszahlen in diesem Frühling, sowie der Aussicht auf mehr Impfungen bis September haben die ausrichtenden Vereine gemeinsam mit der Landeshauptstadt Kiel entschieden, die Kieler Woche 2021 erneut in den September zu verlegen.
Somit werden sowohl die Regatten, als auch das Festival in der Kieler Innenstadt vom 4. bis zum 12. September 2021stattfinden.

Wir hoffen, euch zahlreich im September zu einer unvergesslichen Kieler Woche begrüßen zu dürfen und freuen uns über jede/n, die/der mit uns an den Start gehen kann & möchte!
Was wir bereits einmal mit eurer Hilfe und Unterstützung ermöglicht haben, schaffen wir gemeinsam auch ein zweites Mal!
Sicherlich habt ihr eine Menge Frage zu den Konsequenzen der Verschiebung, daher lest zunächst bitte folgende Punkte aufmerksam:
• Wir bitten um euer Verständnis, dass die Entscheidung kurzfristig gefallen ist. Als Veranstalter eines Großevents liegt es in unserer Verantwortung das aktuelle Pandemiegeschehen genau zu beobachten und eine realistische Abwägung vorzunehmen. Der Gesundheitsschutz geht vor.
• In den nächsten Tagen und Wochen werden wir die weiteren Schritte planen und Abstimmungen mit den Organisatoren, Klassenvereinigungen und Segler*innen vornehmen.
• Wir werden euch so schnell wie möglich mit neuen Informationen versorgen und bitten um euer Verständnis und etwas Geduld.
• Bitte seht von einzelnen Anfragen zum momentanen Zeitpunkt ab und habt Verständnis dafür, dass wir auf Einzelanfragen noch nicht reagieren können.
• Segler*innen, die sowohl für die Kieler Woche, als auch für unsere Pfingstveranstaltung, die Young Europeans Sailing (YES) vom 22. bis zum 24.05.2021 gemeldet haben, bitten wir noch nicht vorschnell mit Stornierungen etc. zu reagieren. Auch zu dieser Veranstaltung erhaltet ihr schnellstmöglich Informationen.

Dear sailors,
The pandemic is not leaving us alone and a postponement of Kiel Week, which seemed historically unique last year, is now unavoidable this year as well.
Together, we need to do our utmost to ensure that the third wave is as flat as possible. Due to the rising infection cases this spring, as well as the prospect of more vaccinations by September, the organizing clubs together with the state capital Kiel have decided to postpone Kiel Week 2021 to September again.
Thus, both the regattas and the festival in the city of Kiel will take place from September 4 to 12, 2021.

We hope to be able to welcome you all in September to an unforgettable Kiel Week and are happy about everyone who can & wants to start in Kiel! What we have already made possible once with your help and support, we will create together a second time!
Surely you have a lot of questions about the consequences of the postponement, so please read the following points carefully first:
• We ask for your understanding that the decision was made at short notice. As the organizer of a major sailing event, it is our responsibility to closely monitor the current pandemic situation and make a realistic assessment. Health protection always has priority.
• In the next days and weeks, we will plan the further steps and coordinate with the organizers, class associations and sailors.
• We will provide you with new information as soon as possible and ask for your understanding and patience.
• Please refrain from individual requests at the moment and please understand that we can’t respond to individual requests yet.
• Sailors who have registered for the Kiel Week as well as for our Whitsun event, the Young Europeans Sailing (YES) from 22 to 24 May 2021, we ask you not to react too quickly with cancellations, etc. You will receive information about this event as soon as possible.
