Liebe WM-Fahrer,

Betreff: 505 Worlds Cork '22 Update

Hi All,

Michael Q and I are in contact weekly but I thought it good to give you an update on where we are at with the Worlds.

In Ireland, we removed all COVID restrictions a number of weeks back. Everyone is back to work, no more masks in grocery stores, nightclubs are open, unrestricted international travel etc.

Event wise, I’m updating the event page when there is a need. I’ve just added to work in progress social calendar for instance. Also, if you haven’t already joined the WhatsApp group, please do so, it’s broadcast only.

We have good interest in the billeting/hosting and we are now starting to allocate sailors to local families. We can match demand with supply for now, no issues to report. I will close this option down towards the end of April as we need to move our efforts on to the event itself at that stage.

We have 9 entries- 2 x IRL, 2 x USA, 1 AUS GER FRA SUI GBR. Early entry is one month away, April 18th 2022 so please encourage your fleets to get signed up.

I’m not worried about these numbers yet though as I have accommodation requests for campers, self-catering and billeting/hosting from another 40 boats plus of course the majority of others who have booked accommodation directly or just done nothing yet.

Michael and I are working hard on getting containers to the event from other continents. It’s not a secret, it’s bloody expensive. We are still ok and working closely with the East Coast and West Coast of the USA in particular and the next 2 – 3 weeks will tell a lot.

I would love an indication of numbers from each country. Could you please take 5 seconds to reply with an estimate of entries from your country. All I need as an example is “Ireland – 8”.

All the best,

Alex Barry & Tom Crosbie
