Testing api and notify project donation end point

I'd like to test the round trip for donations within our app without
cluttering up the production data. Is there a way to test out a
donation? Alternatively, I could mock the behavior using the "notify
of a project donation" endpoint to the api but this seems to link to a
404 error right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
