Hi all –

I sail Spot, an old Rondar, #8207.  You may know I broke my mast sailing in the recent Alameda regatta.  Ryan Nelson has some new Seldon Altos on order, and my Plan A was to buy one and have him rig it for me, but looking at the cost of this, I can’t afford it.

I’m writing to ask if anyone has an old mast they would be willing to sell.  I can take a rigged mast and make it work, or a mast section and rig it with all the parts from my old mast.  Any M2 or Alto would work, I think.

Cheers and please let me know, thanks in advance

Ole,

I believe my 505 7200 at Waterat still has an old “beat up” M2. I has a crack that was welded up. I do not need this mast. The mast step height on 7200 may be higher than your boat’s step height, do I don’t know if the mast is long enough to fit your 505. Perhaps Larry Tuttle can confirm the mast is still at Waterat.

Are you suggesting that I have done something with things you have stored here without communicating with you ? That would be a bit annoying.

Larry,

No, sorry. I was trying to get rid of that old M2 mast several years ago, but don’t recall if I was successful, (I think not, but wasn’t certain).

I think the mast is simply taking up space at Waterat, but I have not been there since the St. Francis YC 505 Worlds.

At this point I think the mast should go to whomever can use it. 7200 has two very good masts, and does not need the old M2 as a spare, taking up space at Waterat.

Ole,

Dave and I have a spare semi-rigged M2 available.  I'm around this week - text or call any time and we can coordinate.  It's in Montara.
