Hi from Ireland!

I've recently bought 7771 off Brian Jones and Gary Frost in Cork. I'm hoping to piece together the boat's history and since it spent most of its life on the US west coast I'm starting here.

I'm interested in the info that's not on the archive - past names and colour schemes, when were major changes/updates made, and any interesting stories or anecdotes about or related to the boat. Any old photos or videos would also be great if they exist. I'm told the boat won a world championship, but in the archive I only see 2nd in '98 and '99. Can anyone confirm or refute that?

My goal is to put together a video about the boat on my Youtube channel. I hope to return to 505 sailing as the weather here warms up a bit. It's been too long!

Cheers!
TJ

Thanks! It still has the pink stripe, but the paint is quite faded and will could do with freshening up. I'm not keen on doing that work anytime soon, but when it happens I'll be keeping it the same scheme. The name is also still Gummy de Milo. Not much has changed!

Hi TJ, it's not so much the boat, it's the list of characters that sailed the boat. It's up to you to continue that tradition.

The boat was originally owned by Bill Jager

Then sold to Dave Wahle

I don’t think he ever owned 7771, his boat was 7153 fka Crunchy Vegetables, Forest green with a white stripe. Sold to Urs Rothacker, then Blaine Pedlow. Still kicking around the PNW I believe.

I think Rich Butler had the boat (7771) before Dave W.    Larry and Dave would know.

I bought it from Bertrand Loyal in 2009 and brought it from France to Cork. Brian Jones had it right after me.

At one point in the early 2000's, rumor has it the boat had won the most Worlds Races of all time. The number of Worlds race victories is easily in the 20's or 30's
