Dear 505 Class American Section Members:
Hopefully you have been or are soon to be getting on the water for practice or to one of the multiple regattas we have scheduled for the already started season. There have been two regattas in Clearwater and Long Beach with pre-event training and regatta footage and debriefs. In 2025 a new effort to manage Class media promotion and to provide us with actual footage to see how we are sailing as well as to expose us to a wider audience, the American Section hired Lexi Pline to manage Class media promotion. I think we have succeeded on both fronts.
If you want to see the product, here are the links to Lexi's social media posts to Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube (see above). Also see attachment (below) on American Section homepage showing where to find one-click links to the above as well. Our agreement with her is she'll produce weekly posts with media she has collected. This will be created with footage received from us as well as regatta write ups from us and produced in her "voice". She needs this footage and write ups so if you have it please share with her-
le...@lexiplinephotography.comShe will also attend in person ECCs, NAs, and PCCs.
Obviously this comes with a price that we feel is a good expenditure in terms of ROI for members as well as our broader outreach. We need to raise money to continue to fund this as our membership dues alone will not cover this. The yearly cost is $12,000. We have raised $1000 and have had verbal pledges of more. We welcome donations of any size. I personally have made a contribution and hope others will consider as well. Asking for money is never an easy task. There is NO OBLIGATION from anyone as this is totally distinct from membership dues. This is a group effort and no one person has to do it all. However, if you like this media effort and what you are seeing, please consider donating at this link:
I am happy to personally talk with anyone who has questions, as are any of the Officers. My number is
650-393-3964.
I look forward to seeing you on the water soon.
