NOTICE OF RACE

  

Saunderstown YC, Saunderstown, RI

September 15-16, 2007

 

1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY

 

The Organizing Authority for the regatta is Region One of the International 505 Class Association, American Section.

 

2. RULES

 

The Regatta will be governed by:

                         

 * the 2005-2008 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)

 * the rules of the International 505 Class Association (except as altered by the sailing instructions.)

 and by the sailing instructions.

  

3. ENTRIES

 

Entry fee is $40 per boat. This includes entry for the regatta and to all social events.

 

4. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

 

September 15, 2007

   1000-1100 Registration

   1100 Competitor's meeting

   1200 First Start (many races to follow)

      BBQ after racing

 

September 16, 2007

   1100 First Start (many races to follow)

        No Warning Signals after 1600

        Prize Presentation after racing

 

5. REGISTRATION

 

Registration will take place at the Saunderstown YC on September 15, 2007 between 1000 and 1100.

 

6. SAFETY EQUIPMENT

 

Adequate personal buoyancy having a minimum of 4.5 kg for each competitor shall be worn while afloat. This changes RRS 1.2.  A towline not less than 10 meters long nor less than 6mm in diameter shall be carried at all times.

 

7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

 

A printed copy of the sailing instructions will be available upon registration.

 

8. COURSES

 

The courses will be detailed in the sailing instructions.

 

9. SCORING

 

The Low Point scoring system, Appendix A of the RRS will apply. A minimum of two races shall be completed to constitute the regatta.
