TL;DR: Please send me $$ if you want to ship to Kingston!

Hi All,

We have ~7 boats interested in shipping West Coast <-> Kingston NA's this year.  Because the transport options are pretty different if we have 6 vs 8 boats, I'd like to collect deposits for this trip a little earlier in the process than usual, to firm up numbers.

Here are the details as I know them:
  1. Loading will happen sometime late week of 8/4 in San Francisco, likely on a weekday.
  2. Unloading will happen Friday 8/15 @ CORK (still confirming) to facilitate sailing Canadian Nationals (NOR https://theclubspot.com/regatta/ns2BC7CFqt)
  3. I am working with organizers to facilitate boat movement CORK -> KYC midweek for NA's out of KYC.  NA's NOR is
  4. We will reload the boats Sun 8/24
  5. We will unload the boats in SF when they get home.
  6. I do not have quotes yet. When we went to Kingston in 2019 it was $14k round trip. I will communicate this information as I get it. If quotes are wildly out of line with this, we can reevaluate.
I would like to collect a $1000 deposit from each team to confirm their shipping spot. If you want to ship to NA's, please send me this deposit promptly.

Here are the terms of the deposit:
- If no west coast group shipping happens, the deposits will be returned less any expenses (which might include e.g. tipping agents who have done work for us etc).  I expect expenses in this case to be near zero.
- If west coast group shipping does happen, and you choose not to go, the deposit is nonrefundable and will help defray the costs of others.
- If west coast group shipping happens but capacity is such that some boats are excluded, those deposits will be returned.  I do not expect this to be the case/am working on accommodating all interest, but can't promise anything yet.
- This deposit does not guarantee you a way to get your boat to Kingston.  It gives you higher priority than anyone not giving a deposit and gives me a firm number of boats to attempt to accommodate. If you make a deposit and the boats are delayed/otherwise miss the event, or if the shipping falls through due to lack of interest, I am not liable for getting your boat to Kingston and/or for reimbursing costs you may have incurred in anticipation of the event.  That being said, I will obviously do everything I can to make this container happen/have everything work out, as I have done in the past.

Electronic payment is best: paypal or zelle (eric.t.a...@gmail.com) or venmo (@eric-t-anderson).

Best,
Eric

Hi all,
Reminder to send me deposits if you want to be included in shipping plans.

Also please be aware that we received a scam email trying to get deposits sent somewhere else using an email that was the same as mine except one letter different.

Here is my payment information:
paypal or zelle (eric.t.a...@gmail.com) or venmo (@eric-t-anderson).

Hi All,

I am starting to make shipping plans. If you are planning on shipping to NA's, please send me a deposit! Otherwise we will start making plans without you :(

I currently have deposits from:
Mike Martin
Howie
Tim Murphy
(Me)

These people have previously expressed interest, but I don't have deposits from them:
@Mike Holt (but he and I have separately sorted this out)
@Jimmy Franzone are you planning to ship to NA's?
@Rob Waterman maybe as well?

Eric
