Has anyone ever tried SMS voting with 4INFO?

How would the votes be tallied?

A fair question.

I was poking through the XML tutorials for submitting queries to Y!
news and geowhatever. Mind you, it barely made sense to me, but I'm
curious if the text passed to the url could instead carry post data
for a quick and dirty custom form. I guess it is already, but in this
instance the form data would dump to something (csv, mdb, etc.) and
the return data could be a "thanks for voting" message?

Again, I cannot stress enough just how new this whole business is to
me. I'm planning on taking a wild and messy stab at it next week and
was wondering if anyone else had already tried. Interesting results,
awesome or embarrassing, will certainly be shared!

But again, how would you get the data back out of 4INFO? Does not look like there is a way of doing this. Seems to be a privacy issue on their end but I would like to know about users who have signed up for my alerts or who have responded on 2-way things.

Right now, it's difficult to set up a self-service poll; look for it
in the future. OP will have some some interface for getting some data
back from the poll. Allen is correct, data available will depend on
privacy regulations.
