THE LION IN WINTER

The queen, and wealthiest woman in the world, Eleanor of Aquitaine, has been kept in prison since raising an army against her husband, King Henry II, and is only let out for holidays. Set during the Christmas of 1183, this fiery play centers around the inner conflicts of the Plantagenet family as they are locked in a free-for-all of competing ambitions to inherit a kingdom. As Eleanor says, “Every family has its ups and downs,” and this royal family is no exception. Comedic in tone, dramatic in action, THE LION IN WINTER is a classic of the American theater, made even more popular by the 1968 film starring Peter O’Toole and Katharine Hepburn. Our intimate Cellar production promises to be a theatrical experience that you won’t soon forget.

DOUBLE WORKDAY –

THE LION IN WINTER & THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER

This coming Saturday, October 6 at 10AM, we have a lot happening at the theater! It will be the FINAL workday for The Lion in Winter, as well as the FIRST workday for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and we need a lot of help on both!

In the CELLAR, we'll have various painting projects, lots of fabric draping/swagging, a little bit of construction, and lots of cleanup to prepare for Lion in Winter tech week.

On the MAINSTAGE, we will begin construction on the set for Christmas Pageant! The first couple workdays will focus on construction only, so please, no children this week. We'll let you know when we have projects for kids in the coming weeks. Adults & older teens welcome -- if you have construction experience, great! If not, we'll show you the ropes!

If you can make it on Saturday, please RSVP to Gary (white...@gmail.com) by Friday morning so that we have a head count for lunch. The plan for lunch on Saturday is pizza! If you have any dietary restrictions that mean you can't eat said pizza, please let Gary know. Hope to see you at the theater!
