Sunday hours are back at your Detroit Public Library!

Beginning Sunday, October 8, 2017, the Detroit Public Library will restore Sunday service at Main Library. Sunday hours were discontinued in 1981 as a result of budget cuts.

In addition to restoring Sunday hours at Main Library, for the first time ever, two branches will also be open on Sunday; the Redford Branch, 21200 Grand River at McNichols, and the Wilder Branch, 7140 E. Seven Mile Rd at Van Dyke. Hours of service for Main, Redford and Wilder will be 1 - 5 pm, on Sundays, October - May.

While traditional library services will be available, these locations will also offer special family programming. On Sundays, Main Library and Wilder will host free one-hour art classes for children sponsored by ProjectArt. Visit detroitpubliclibrary.org for details about Sunday programming offered October - May.

Come join the launch of "Sunday Family Fundays" on October 8 which will feature free food, games and giveaways. Visit detroitpubliclibrary.org for details. Remember make "Sunday Family Fundays" at your Detroit Public Library.
