Hi all,
I went to the 440 quiz section today and learned some things I thought might be useful:
· Kim would like at least one member of each team to come to both sections in order to relay anything we learned to the rest of the team (it doesn't have to be the same person, just as long as we have some representation in both sections, she wrote names down today)
· The structure of the presentation should follow closely to the rubric we were given in the task analysis handout, but she provided some clarification:
o the overall problem and solution slide should be our current problem statement, Vince might want to explain why we changed it if there's time
o the contextual inquiry results should be what we learned about the inquiry, while the task analysis results should be the tasks we discovered through the contextual inquiry (these seem really similar to me, so if this confuses you, just ignore my explanation and go with your gut about the contextual inquiry results)
o the three representative task should be the tasks users would perform with our app, and if those tasks have changed we should explain why (so it sounds basically like a summary of our task analysis essay)
· she also talked about our task analysis essays and said some stuff that would have been nice to know earlier:
o we should stay away from tasks that have the computer do all the work for you, in other words, pick tasks that are interactive (I think we are fine in that area)
o our sketches should be so different from each other that they should look like they came from different companies if this was a real job
I hope some of this is helpful
- - Carolyn
