Hi all,
I went to quiz  section today and it was just me and Nikki (she and Kim switched for the day) so we talked and she had some ideas for our prototype that I thought I'd pass on.

She thought we could take a look at the urbanspoon or yelp mobile app for some creative ideas ( i think this was in regards to our list view and possibly implementing filter options but now I can't remember)

We could show 'already visited' POIs in a different state from ones the user has not yet visited

We could use the concept of geo-fencing where a user is notified of new POIs when they come into a specific neighborhood/area in real life

She thought that we should allow users to share points of interest with specific people rather then a general blast when a new POI is created (she thought that would annoy some users and advocated the geo-fencing instead). She suggested using the android's share function in the menu which lets you share something 'out of app' such as through fb or twitter as well as sharing with specific friends that use wanderlust if we wanted to

about the presentation and poster: the longer than normal presentation will happen next week. then the class votes on the top three projects. On monday the 10th, the class meets for the poster session in the atrium with the industry professionals. Landay will talk for about 20-30 min about the goal of our class, then the top three teams  will give their presentation again for the industry people, and then the industry people will walk around and look at our posters. Then Landay buys us all lunch

Finally a general piece of advice for every team: in order not to lose sight of our value proposition ( such as alerting users to what is going on right now for our team) we should first revisit our value proposition (problem) statement, state our three tasks, then be able to say how those tasks relate back to the value proposition, then work on screen flow based on those tasks, keeping in mind that we are starting from a broad topic and working towards the specific. (i think we are doing ok with this for now)
