to 43rd LD for Obama
Hi 43rd Dems,

Tuesday is the big day! And--weirdly--there's a reorganization meeting
that I hope you can attend, especially if you're a PCO and can vote on
positions within the 43rd District Dem organization:

Date and Time: January 20 at 7:30 pm
Location: University Heights Community Center, University Ave and 50th
Street
Details: Nominations will be made at the meeting. Elected PCOs are
eligible to vote for officers.

Granted, scheduling this important meeting on inauguration night means
that likely very few people will likely show up. Which leads me to the
reason for sending this email: The need for good organization in the
43rd District Democratic structure.

As a national delegate and grassroots organizer, I had the opportunity
to go to Chicago for a post-campaign debriefing with about 300 field
organizers and grassroots volunteers in December. After they get
settled in the White House, the Obama team has plans to roll out an
organization to keep people motivated and focused on the grassroots
level.

Working with the rest of the 43rd grassroots leadership team, I had
the chance to spend almost a year with Nick Sesnak. He is running for
Vice-Chair of Elections, and he needs your vote tomorrow night if you
are a PCO.

I know it's an absurd drag to ask you to come to a meeting on
Inauguration night. But if you want things to get better in our
district, we need someone like Nick helping to spearhead coordination
with the Obama team and organizational improvements at the local,
precinct-by-precinct level.

Here's the story with Nick that I can testify to firsthand: He's
incredibly focused, organized, and diplomatic. As the Legislative
District organizer, I worked with him as he whipped Region D (North
Capitol Hill, Montlake, and Madison Park) into shape to help get out
"lazy" voters that the campaign had targeted. He was tireless in his
efforts, but very thoughtful and considerate of the time of the
volunteers involved. I watched his excellent delegation skills at work
for a year. I'm convinced he will do well in this role, organizing
precinct by precinct for 2010 and for Barack's re-election.

Please come out Tuesday night, and consider supporting Nick.

And thanks to everyone who did so much in the fighting 43rd for Obama!
A year of getting to know so many of you has made me very thankful to
live in such an awesome place.
