Suddenly my emails from 43f have added a message number in the subject
header. This has broken threading. Did I do something wrong? Has
something changed somewhere?

I noticed that too... just started.

And what makes this worse is that my filter doesn't work any longer!!

Well, the list is now configured to include that. I'm not sure who
changed it. (And FWIW, it doesn't break the threading in GMail, so I
suspect you're using a client that doesn't do "proper" (i.e.,
references header-based) threading.)

I'll ask the other moderators if somebody purposefully changed and if
it can be changed back.

cheers,
john.

Ouch - sorry guys.

I didn't do it but I've set it back to the way it used to be.

Google Groups seems to think this is a feature.
I may have a little talk with them about that.

I had changed it. Sorry for the fiddling. And thanks for changing it
back, Vicki!
