While I'm in here for some other questions I figure I'll just mention
the GTD software I use. it is simply fantastic.

http://monkeygtd.tiddlyspot.com/demo3.html

It is free, non commercial, supported by an ever growing community. It
is also simply one single html-file, meaning it works on any computer
and that you can keep it on a usb stick or whatever. It is now version
3 so it has evolved over some years. There are also some free hosts
where you can store (and use) your file, if you want it accessible via
the web wherever you are.

It is actually based on a "personal wiki system" called TiddlyWiki
(which is also free, open source etc), see; http://www.tiddlywiki.com/

It's worth noticing that it is a bit of a threshold to understand how
a TiddlyWiki works... but once you do, then you see the incredible
flexibility and power of it. also note you must know GTD.

Just to clarify; I am not affiliated with monkeyGTD (other than
participating on the forums occasionally). Besides, it is open source/
free / non-commercial anyway.

Also, maybe I was a bit unclear; because it is a single html-file, it
does not in any way have to be hosted via a server. You can have it
locally on your computer or wherever you wish. I just mentioned that
it *can* be on a server and that there are some free servers that
hosts monkeyGTD (and tiddlywiki, the tool which monkeyGTD is a form
of).

In all honesty, I think you'll have to be a bit of a geek to
appreciate it though. Personally, I find it fantastic!

I wonder if the MonkeyGTD HTML file can be used on Android phones.
Speaking of which, we should probably start an Android post.

Hi.
I had tried it before with the previous version of MonkeyGTD. I think
it was Version 2. This now looks very different and I wonder if I
should give it another try.
I have downloaded it and will see.

The previous version I have been struggling with and I have also tried
the iMindMapping (The new version 3 has an in-built project management
have a look here: http://www.iMindMap.com/mw2008)

I absolutely admire MindMaps but I am still looking for something that
gives me overview at a glance. Moleskines are fine too, but can be
awkward to update and an PC based system like Monkey GTD can be easily
updated, rather than writing the same action into a new list. Paper
based systems are easier to carry around though, unless the MonkeyGTD
can be run on my mobile which I am now going to try out ....

best regards
Marcus

I have tried it now for a few days. Had some difficulties in the
beginning to save the changes. All sorted now and it seems to
be big improvement to the earlier version. It might work absolutely
well for me now.
