Hi everyone! First post, I've been reading for a while now but never
had anything to ask or contribute.

Much to my dismay, I've recently lost my Fisher Bullet. Though it's
been a companion to my pocket since I started reading 43 folders,
always clipped to my Hipster, 2 weeks ago I wanted to jot down a note,
pulled out the index cards and realized - my pen wasn't there.

And as luck might have it, finding the Bullet is a rarity here in the
Netherlands. No internet shops carry it, and apparently I was the only
one to buy a Fisher Space Pen at the local specialty shop in the past 5
years, so they didn't really have any in stock. Needing a pen fast, I
opted for the other smallest pen they had in store: The Lamy Pico.
I kinda like it. It does have a cheap plastic feel to it, which
considering it costs as much as the Bullet isn't a good thing, but it
feels more like a pen I (being a college student) would use. The chrome
of the Bullet just didn't match my I-wish-I-was-a-punkrocker wardrobe.
The only problem is that it has no clip, and I'm awfully afraid I'm
going to lose it just like I lost my previous pen - and that one had a
clip! What's the best idea to keep from losing the pen while in my
pockets?

My regular pants layout is that I have my wallet (cards and bills only)
in my left pocket with my mobile, my keys and my inhaler (I have
asthma) in my right pocket, my loose change in my right back pocket and
I used to have my hipster and Bullet in my left back pocket. So far
I've taken to putting the Pico with my mobile, since it tends to get
into awkward positions in my back pocket without being clipped onto
something. But whenever I pull out my wallet or my mobile, I have to
catch the pen from slipping out. And I don't want to buy another pen in
a few weeks :) Any thoughts?

Try a Zebra telescopic pen. Same size as a space pen when closed. About
$5 for two in the US. http://www.zebrapen.com/ball-tele.html

Zebra telescopic pens crept open in my pocket. :-( My Fisher Space
Pen doesn't, and now I'm getting used to *always* having a working pen
with me.

If you want to go back to a Fisher, check out some of the other colors
- the black matte might be a little more punk rock than the chrome, and
I've seen on online in camouflage too.

I just got a Bullet Space Pen and I love it way more than a person
should love a pen!
