I would love an offline interface to Backpack for when I don't have an
internet connection. Since Backpack is based on RubyOnRails, it seems
like only a matter of time until this happens. Anyone have any
thoughts?

Thanks,

Herb

Hey Herb,

The 37signals team is preparing to release an API for Backpack, which
should lead to all manner of interfaces, contraptions and doodads. At a
minimum I'd expect some kind of Dashboard widget to surface, along with
a utility able to dump lists and notes onto iPod. Can't wait - Backpack
runs my life now!

I would love this too. To have it sync'd to my Palm would be the very
best, so long as I could make changes on the Palm and sync them back.
short of that--37signals just introduced a low-overhead version of
Backpack pages for those accessing from mobile devices like smartphones
and wireless PDAs.
you get to it by appending /mob to the normal address for the page
you're trying to access, e.g. for me
benjaloo.backpackit.com/mob
I love the idea, though I'm concerned about two things; when I don't
have a connection, and the costs of all that downloading, even with a
low overhead page. it is pretty fast on my Treo.
