Just wondering what Mac software people use to create their Hipster PDA
notecards. So far I've tried
TextEdit - Doesn't work, the printing function scales the content with
the paper size, making microscopic type
NeoOffice - Works, but is very slow to load
SubEthaEdit - Works, but requires many steps to print a notecard
(changing options in at least 3 menus) and can only print plain text.
Presumably there are people out there who use MS Word, which I don't
own and don't really want to buy. Any free editors that do this well?
I'll add this info to the Wiki when I get it sorted out.
Thanks,
Peter
Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, couldn't find it.
NeoOffice/J is what I used, and is what is used by the fella at
diyplanner.com. To actually make the cards, I bought 8.5x11 (US Letter)
sized cardstock (90lb. weight) and carved it into 4 pieces after using
the 4-up PDFs from diyplanner.com.
There is also a set of widgets for NeoOffice so you can make your own
DIY Planner templates.
It doesn't load very fast but it's no slower than some of the other
applications I've used - Firefox, Thunderbird, and iTunes come to mind.
If it bothers you - and I can see how it would - leave it open as you
work and don't close it unless necessary.
the 5388 stock is somewhat expensive though. $15 for 150 cards (3
cards per sheet)
