I'm considering replacing (for a 3rd time) my lost bullet pen (without
clip) with a clipped version of the bullet pen. I'm wondering if anyone
has noticed a difference in terms of losing the clipped vs. the
clipless version.

I've always carried a clipless, silver bullet pen in my pants pocket.
It was supremely handy and fit smoothly in dress pants or jeans. I
think it was too smooth and I've lost 2 of them, presumably from
slipping out of my pocket.

I think the issue with the pen isn't necessarily its lack of clip, but
more its size. It being in your pocket, and not clipped to anything,
merely means you'll get poked in the leg more often, not keep it
inside. I could understand getting the clipped version if you wear it
in your breast pocket or inside a suit jacket, however the pen will
still slip from your pocket. If this is your problem, I would suggest
a bulkier pen as you would be more apt to notice it missing and it
would also have a bit harder time sliding around. As an aside, you may
invest in a few rubber bands and wrap them around the "cap" end of
your FSP so it has a bit of traction.

i wouldn't know. i've lost two in six months. one was clip'ed, one
wasn't.

it is possible someone at the office admires them more than i do.
