Hi, I just wanted to say hello. I got the idea to join because someone
on LJ linked to the 43F blog and I started looking at it, and lo &
behold, here I am. Here is a link to an LJ entry I made regarding my
need to get organized:

I have started reading GTD and am really liking it a lot.

Frugal tip: Instead of the Moleskin, not to disparage the fine
notebook, but for those of us a little shorter of pocket, how about the
Composition Notebook? They also make them in pocket size, if you look
around.

Welcome! Good luck with using GTD in your life.

I don't remember ever seeing a pocket-sized composition. I'll have to
look into that,

Welcome. While there's a mania for Moleskines around here, there are
other alternatives, depending on your needs. Yesterday, after much
consideration, I bought an Executive Slimline Personal from Filofax to
use as my calendar and notebook of choice. It's thin and open--the
lack of a tab, zipper, or snap made it very appealing to me. And I've
been eyeing the beautiful stuff over at http://www.russellandhazel.com.
The same outfit has a partnership with Smead, producing equally cool
supplies: http://www.yourmo.com. (I have no affiliation whatsover with
any of these companies....)

I've been using the Hipster PDA (3x5 index cards with a binder clip)
for my pocket notebook. Index cards are extremely flexible. I can't
stress enough how handy they are just to have on hand for everyday use.

I found them at Kmart, in the school supplies area, and others have
told me that they are available at Walmart as well.

They are 4.5 x 3.25 in, and I hold mine closed with a 3/8 in binder clip.

Have fun!
