Apologies for cross postings

You are cordially invited you to the next series of events in Leeds
Shopping Plaza and 42 New Briggate on Saturday 12th June which are
part of Art in Unusual Spaces. Mirrored Rooms, toothpasty windows,
helium balloons, soundscapes and more.

Leeds Shopping Plaza Ground Floor
Open 10am - 5pm
3-5pm with refreshments - All are welcome

‘-and Lo ! the bird is on the Wing’ by Christian Braime
A space densely filled with helium balloons and cut flowers. '-and
Lo ! the bird is on the Wing' is inspired by The Rubaiyat of Omar
Khayyam (from which the title of the work is taken),

'Infinout' by Martin Mundy
A space within a space. Installation is open from 11-5pm on Saturday.
Saturday 12th June 11 - 5pm, Sunday 13th June 12 noon - 4pm, Monday
14th June - Saturday 19th June 10am - 5pm

'Are You Listening Leeds?' Sound installation by Joshua Sadler, Jed
Skinner and Kristina Diprose.
An entire day is collapsed into 24 minutes of sound. 'Are You
Listening Leeds?' takes you through a shifting soundscape. This
installation will be open for one day only.

'Stop-Watch' by James Shilton
Video installation exploring people's perception of time and the
increased use of CCTV in public spaces.

'Mint Residue' by Alice Bradshaw
Labour intensive installation of whitewashed windows using toothbrush
and toothpaste.

Closing Events of Testspace Leeds
Crash Records, The Headrow (Across from Primark) Open from 10am - 6pm
10am-1pm: Morning arts market
2pm - 5pm Live music by bands including We Are All Made in China, Hail
Animator, 30 Minute Skiffle Hour. There will also be the closing of
the three rapid exhibitions.

42 New Briggate
10am - 6pm Rapid art factory, moving image showcase
1pm Closing Party for the rapid exhibitions.

Art In Unusual Spaces is a partnership between independent curators,
landlords, artists and businesses throughout the city and Leeds City
Council. It is an ongoing initiative utilising units across the city
as they become temporarily vacant.

Many thanks to the Grand Theatre and Land Securities for providing the
spaces for these exhibitions.
