 CDXC VIRTUAL CONVENTION ---> Held on 8 May via Zoom,  the Chiltern DX Club's
 Virtual Convention is now available  to watch on the  CDXC  YouTube channel:
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aquQ-XfGWw.  It includes  presentations  by
 Dave Lloyd  K3EL  (The VP8PJ DXpedition),  Steve Nichols G0KYA  (propagation
 prediction tools),  Andy Summers G4KNO (antenna measurements) and Dave Aslin
 G3WGN (how he built his contest station).

 HAMVENTION QSO PARTY ---> The in-person  event  has been cancelled  for  the
 second year in a row, but another  Hamvention QSO Party  will take place  on
 Saturday of what would have been the Hamvention weekend. It will be held  on
 22 May, from 12 to 24 UTC (twelve hours), on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres CW

 INDEXA NEWSLETTER ---> The Spring 2021 issue (#132) of the  International DX
 Association's Newsletter is now available for download on the INDEXA website
 (https://indexa.org/newsletters.html).  "With the scarcity  of  DXpeditions,
 there is also a scarcity of material reporting on the activity", John Scott,
 K8YC, says.  "Therefore, I've reached back to the April 2006 issue to repro-
 duce the report on the Peter I DXpedition  ['Peter I 2006.  Getting there is
 the story!', by Erling J. Wiig, LA6VM].  With the recent announcement of two
 separate expeditions to  Bouvet planned for the next two years and  the mis-
 fortunes of the last two attempts,  I felt we should all be reminded of  the
 difficulties  with weather  that is prevalent  when operating  in the  polar
 regions. We should also be thankful that there are intrepid souls willing to
 undertake the risks and hardships of such ventures".

 NL0H ---> Henry, NL0H is now very active again from St. Lawrence Island (NA-
 040).  "His recent antenna upgrades have given him quite a boost on the air,
 and his signals are now being received worldwide",  his QSL manager reports.
 Henry's mode of choice  is SSB,  but  "under current conditions  his  70/100
 watts on SSB don't always do the job, and he finds himself dropping onto FT8
 just to get  his  rare IOTA out  to the many chasers  who need it".  QSL via
 M0OXO's OQRS (https://www.m0oxo.com/oqrs/).

 VK6SJ/4 ---> "I completed my week on Coconut  and  Thursday Islands (OC-138)
 between 3 and 9 May", Steve, VK6SJ reports.  Grid locations were QH19mw  for
 Coconut Island and QH19ck for Thursday Island. Be aware that "for one reason
 or  another"  Steve used  "a few  different versions of callsign  during the
 operation: VK6SJ/VK4, VK4/VK6SJ as well as just VK6SJ. What will be going in
 the logs will be VK6SJ/4, so please amend your log entry accordingly. I made
 just over 400 contacts and I am in the process of getting the logs validated
 with IOTA". QSL via EB7DX.

 WTISD ---> Proclaimed in 2006 by the  ITU Plenipotentiary Conference,  World
 Telecommunication and Information Society Day  is celebrated annually on  17
 May.  Taking part in this year's celebrations will be special event stations
 A60WTIS from the United Arab Emirates (16-18 May, QSL via EA7FTR);
 A91WTIS from Bahrain (13-17 May, QSL via EC6DX);
 ER0ITU from Moldova (15-19 May, QSL via LoTW);
 HZ1WTIS from Saudi Arabia (13-17 May, QSL via LoTW).
 Also look for A60WTIS to be activated  with different suffix extensions (see
 qrz.com for the QSL routes).
