5W - Jacek, SP5EAQ had announced he would be active from Samoa from 22
March to 11 April [425DXN 1815]. He was set to fly via Doha (Qatar)
and Brisbane, ultimately arriving in Apia to begin operating as
5W0AF. However, the geopolitical situation has shifted significant-
ly since the initial planning. With the airspace of several coun-
tries (including Qatar) currently closed, the stability of the
region remains uncertain even if routes were to reopen shortly.
Consequently, Jacek has determined that the only viable solution is
to re-route and postpone the DXpedition - likely until autumn. This
will involve purchasing new tickets that avoid the Middle East
entirely.
DL - DA26WARD is the special callsign for the DARC Team SES to promote
World Amateur Radio Day between 1 March and 30 April. QSL via LoTW,
DK5ON, and DCL (DARC Community Logbook). WARD is celebrated annu-
ally on 18 April, the day when the IARU was formed in 1925. The
theme for this year's WARD is "Advancing the Spirit of Amateur
Radio Through Innovation".
JD1/O - Look for Masa, JA0RQV/JD1 and Rio, JR2GYA/JD1 to be active holiday
style from Chichijima (AS-031), Ogasawara on 13-16 March. They will
operate FT8, FT4, CW, and SSB on 80-6 metres. QSL JA0RQV/JD1 via
LoTW or Club Log's OQRS; QSL JR2GYA/JD1 via LoTW.
JW - Kaare, LA8EKA will be active again as JW8EKA from Longyearbyen (EU-
026), Svalbard on 13-15 March. Usually he operates SSB and digital
modes (SSB, RTYY, PSK31, FT8) mainly on 20-10 metres. It looks like
this time he'll be confirming the QSOs via an e-QSL sent by email.
LZ - LZ75HSC is the special callsign for Bulgarian HSC members to cele-
brate the 75th anniversary of the Radio Telegraphy Highspeed Club
(HSC) until the end of the year. QSL via LZ2JE. The club was found-
ed in 1951 as a community within the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club
(DARC). To date, membership has grown to include over 1,400 opera-
tors spanning every continent:
http://www.highspeedclub.org.
PY0F - Conrad, DL7UE is currently on a family vacation on Fernando de No-
ronha (SA-003), and is active on QO-100 as PY0F/PY5ZUE until 7
March. QSL via LoTW.
SV - SZ40A is the special callsign for the Radio Amateur Association of
Western Greece (SZ1A) to celebrate "forty years of continuous pres-
ence, service, and contribution to amateur radio". Look for activ-
ity across multiple HF bands and modes from 1 March to 31 May. QSL
via ON3UN. See
https://awards.sz1a.org for the award programme.
V3 - Paula, OK2YL and Vlad, OK2WX will be active holiday style as V31YL
and V31WX, respectively, from IOTA group NA-073, Belize on 9-22
March. They will operate SSB, CW and FT8 on various bands. QSLs via
I8KHC. [TNX I8KHC]
VP0/O - Ramon, LU1DMZ expects to be active as LU1DMZ/Z and LU1ZA from Base
Orcadas on Laurie Island, South Orkney Islands (AN-008) throughout
2026.
YJ - Aki, JK1JXZ will be active as YJ1JXZ from Port Vila (OC-035), Vanu-
atu from 15 March to 3 April. He will be QRV on 80-6 metres, after
17 local time during weekdays and all day during the weekends.
ZC4 - The 4-11 March ZC4C and ZC4Z operation from the UK SBA on Cyprus
[425DXN 1817] has been cancelled at the very last minute due to the
ongoing conflict in the Middle East. "We have no problem using
radio in the area", the team says, "but we can't physically get
there".
ZF - Colin, G4CWH will be active as ZF2CA from the Cayman Islands (NA-
016) on 12-17 March, with main activity during the Commonwealth
Contest. Outside the contest he will be "on most bands and modes".
QSL via home call.
YL WORLD WIDE AWARD 2026 ---> "The YL World Wide Award is the first interna-
tional radio project aimed at bringing together the largest number of Young
Ladies worldwide in a single event. Born from the experience of the World
Wide Award team during three years of organizing WWA, we decided to organize
a worldwide radio event dedicated to ham-radio women".
The YL WWA takes place on 9-15 March, with activity on 80-10 metres CW, SSB,
DIGI (FT8, FT4, RTTY, PSK). More than 220 YL operators from 45 DXCC Entities
are expected to take part in the event. See

complete information.
