I think that CUO Brigdeman mentioned a SQN GST that happened a while
back. I think this would be a good thing to do because I feel that it
would keep the new cadets interested. On training weekends we always
go to Point Cook. Point Cook is not the most interesting base
around. If we went to RAAF Sale which, from what I've heard, is
really fun and there are things to do it would really boost morale and
interests.
I would also like to know if there will be a .22 Shoot happening
soon. There is a long time before new cadets are able to go steyr
shooting. It would keep people interested until they have finished
prof.

I rekcon we should arrange a GST that we can go interstate to RAAF
Edinbough, Richmond or Williamtown for the cadets that have done a Vic
GST and arrange another GST for the new cadets to go to RAAF East
Sale. Perhaps at the end of the year between end of school and
Promotion courses?
If the Squadron is worried about the new recruits loosing interest is
we should organise another army reserve night at the barracks. To show
the new recruits today's ARMY, to show to them 'their toys' the Steyr,
minimi and get their photos taken. also, Invite parents along to the
night if they think it's a career option for their child later down
the track.
I second the .22 shoot because of the fact we were promised one last
year and i believe some of the new basic and the old basic cadets are
loosing interest and want to have a shoot.

Like the GST idea - ill chase up with the CUO and see what we can
arrange; we started to organise a GST to RAAF Williamtown late last
year, just be warned it takes upwards of 9 months to get an activity
like that finalised - so if we get the cogs turning again now we may
be able to have it late this year/early 2008!
The .22 shoot is in motion - ill keep you posted! Expect it within 3-6
months (bit if'y, yes, but it is a shooting activity, and they have to
be PERFECT to get approval).
The ARMY Reserve presentation we had last year was good, so it would
definately be a good idea to have another one! The way those are
traditionally organised is that our CO speaks to the CO of C Coy 5/6
RVR and organises a date - ill see what we can do.

Shooting is a point of contention throughout the WG - we have all our
paperwork together, we really just need to have a 4WG HQ back and then
we can get it approved!
