Lifts to and from Maelstrom

So as I don't have a car, and getting the train from Oxford to Mansfield takes over 7 hours, would anyone be passing by the Oxford region and willing to give me a lift to and from Maelstrom?  I'd be happy to get to a train station that would be easy - Reading, London or Banbury spring to mind as ones near/on major routes North-South.  I'd also chip in for the petrol etc.
