New official release announcement

After some intensive testing, I have decided to release the latest beta as a new official release. Files can be downloaded at https://github.com/400plus/400plus/releases/tag/20160404-01, and the changes from the previous official version are the same that I have been commenting during the beta cycle:

* Fixed Polish translation.
* 400plus now stores all files (except AUTOEXEC.BIN) in a folder called 400PLUS; you may create such folder and move the files yourself, or 400plus will do it automatically for you.
* "Quick exposure" now works continuously while you are holding the DOWN button down.
* "Fixed exposure" now works while you are holding the SET button down; there is no need to press once to enable the feature and once again to disable it.
* In the "Long exposure calculator", you can now change the Ev, and the calculator will compensate by changing the exposure time; you no longer need to play with the exposure time to achieve the desired Ev.
* When pressing the DP button to enter 400plus' menu, the original menu does not flash in the display.
* When the "Better DISP button" is active, press the DISP button once then cycle through the brightness levels using the UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT buttons, then press SET to leave the feature; pressing DISP twice will switch the display off.
* Actions attached to TRASH and JUMP buttons are now called shortcuts, and work a bit different. In general, you must hold down the JUMP or TRASH button, then use UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT to use the feature. There is also some info on the display about the active shortcut.

The new release is interesting.
But I'm sure, there is a bug in the Extended AEB.
Ever time I use the Delay with the Extended AEB, it only works once. If i re-enter the script, the blue led flashes, but nothing happens. I have to re-power the Cam.
Futher question: is it possible to start your extended AEB by remote or ir in order to reduce camera shake?

I have tried to reproduce this issue, but it has been working consistently for me. Could you please give us more information? How did you configure both the "self-timer" and "EAEB" scripts? Thanks!

I still do not know how to intercept the IR command (or the shutter button), so right now it is not possible to launch scripts from the IR (or the shutter button). Perhaps in the future.

I've been using the EAEB function as a script (since I'm using the german menue, it's difficult to say the english corresponding topic, therefore I take the german translation). In "Erweitertes AEB" I can use the "2s Verzögerung", set the parameters and start the script by pressing set. The first sum of photographs is taken right. Then, it's impossible to fire the script again by using the same settings again or by pressing the trash button which is set to repeat last action.
How can I give you more information?

I configured the EAEB script and enabled the "2s delay" option, fired it by pressing SET and it worked; then I navigated back to the menu and fired it again with the SET button, and it worked again; finally, I pressed TRASH (was also configured to repeat the last script), and it worked again.

So, it seems there is something different between your configuration and mine...

Can you please list the values for all the parameters in the EAEB menu? What mode (P / Av / TV / ...) and what parameters (aperture and speed) are you using? Are the camera's self timer and/or the MLU option active? Is the camera's AEB option active? Is the memory card almost full?

I've found the problem. If I set the parameters for the min and max shutter time and the camera would need a longer time, it doesn't fire the set of pictures. The blue led is blinking until i press the shutter button slightly. But since this it is not possible to go into the menue again. I have to re-power the cam.

The max / min parameters are only used when the camera is set to BULB mode:

* If the camera is set to BULB mode, the script will fire as many shots as needed to cover the full range between the min and max exposure time selected; in this mode of operation, the amount of light in the scene is not taken into account.

* If the camera is not set to BULB mode, then the script ignores the min / max parameters.

Could you please answer the questions from my previous email? I just need to be able to reproduce the issue on my camera.

sorry for very bad quality, but I think, it is visible what I try to explain.
If the shutter time needed for right aperture is too long, the script locks up.

I just repeated the test on my camera, this time with the lens cap on. P mode selected multi-second exposure times, up to 15 seconds. I also tired to repeat the script, both using the TRASH button and entering the menu again.

And unfortunately, I still cannot reproduce the issue...

Could you please try to take long-exposure photographs using other scripts (self-timer or interferometer, for example), or even not using any script at all?

Long Exposure photographs aren't a problem. Self-timed, wave-triggered, manually shot...

I'm lost... same sequence of actions works on my camera, and it does not seem to be anything wrong with yours...

Does it fails when you do not enable the "2s delay" option for the EAEB script? Did it fail with a previous version?

It*s weird, today there are no bugs. All works as supposed.
Therefore I cannot give further hints. My cam hung few times in other situations. Not so often to be annoying.
