Hi Jason,

After trying to deal with the restrictions of Google Sites when
hyperlinking items, I would like to know if Dreamweaver is an
alternate software we can use?

I am able to host the site live, so it will not need to be lodged via
a CD or USB etc. You will receive a url link, just like Google Sites.

I look forward to your reply.

Sounds like there are a few glitches with google sites. Would it be OK to hand in a CD?
How are you going to host the site live Michelle? How much does it cost?

Michelle,
as long as it is a publicly accessible online site, that is fine, but it will be your responsibility to host it and I am afraid I will not be able to provide much technical support with an unfamiliar system. If you have done this before things might be ok but I would caution against trying to learn a new system at this stage,
regards
Jason

No Jolene,
it is a requirement of the assessment and of the ICT Pedagogy Certificate that it is hosted online,

Hi Jason,

I am much better acquainted with Dreamweaver and am able to produce a
far superior product. During our 1074Eps project it was a requirement
that we build our digital portfolio in Dreamweaver and since then that
is what I prefer. I am continuing to build my portfolio using this
software. I have used Google Sites for Technology, but find it
limiting. I will be testing an index page tonight to ensure that it
is accessable and functionable.

Thank you for your reply.

Michelle

Hi Joelene,

I have a friend who hosts web sites as a business, and he is going to
host this site for me, free.

I did question him as to some of the hosting sites you see available
via a search that advertise for approx $25-$30 (1 year) with a domain
name included. My friend said that these hostings can be unreliable
for a business as they often have interuptions, but may be fine for an
assessment where you are not reliant upon sales and online shopping
etc.

As mentioned, I am far more comfortable with Dreamweaver and it is
just fortunate that I can have it hosted for free.

Good luck!

Michelle
