|
Do Europeans take too many holidays?
Live dates: December 22nd - 31st
Current round: Rebuttals
Dear Reader,
Thankfully, in our debate on vacation time, neither of our speakers sees the holiday season as an excuse for slacking. Today they have posted their rebuttals. But have you had your say yet?
Moderator's comments
Robert Gordon, for the pro team, spares no effort in trying to demolish objections to the proposal that Europe takes too much time off. Are Europeans healthier and happier because of their long holidays, as his opponent argues? The evidence suggests no such link, says Professor Gordon. For his part, John de Graaf, arguing against the motion, strives hard to bulldoze Professor Gordon's case. Money isn't everything and it is not much use if you have no time off to enjoy it, he says.
