Hi,

I would like to test 3scale admin/developer portal locally.

I think the easiest would be few Docker containers but as alternative OpenShift Origin could be an option.

Anyone that have done that?
Any guidance?

Regards
Joacim

Hi Joacim,

I have done this using a local Openshift origin cluster using "oc cluster up" cmd. It is worth to note I only got it working using the official Red Hat images. So access to the red hat container registry is required. I also experienced some issues when adding a local (also running on Openshift) Red Hat SSO server. I believe this is due to some routing restrictions in the oc cluster up resulting in the fact the 3scale API Manager could not find the Red Hat SSO server. As a workaround I installed the Red Hat SSO server in the same namespace and used the service name for routing.

Also I tested this setup with 3scale 2.4, not sure how it will behave in 2.5

good luck.

kind regards,

Pim

Hi Joacim,

Very late response here but for what it's worth you can now deploy the system and backend components via docker-compose as described here:  https://github.com/3scale/porta/blob/master/INSTALL.md#quick-setup-with-docker . Of course connecting your APIcast would still be required but that's a very simple step anyway. The remaining piece in case you want to use OpenID Connect is to then deploy zync which is documented here: https://github.com/3scale/zync/blob/master/INTEGRATE.md. That's optional though.

Regards,
Kevin
