APICast versions

Hi,

Trying to get a better understanding of APICast and the versions available.

1) https://github.com/3scale/apicast/releases have a number of releases

• v3.1.0
• v3.0.0
• v2.0.0

No v2.1.0 ?

================================

2) Docker images as often are referenced at quay.io

https://quay.io/repository/3scale/gateway?tab=tags

Does not correlate very well to Github above and newest is 1 year old

================================

3) Red Hat Docker repository https://access.redhat.com/containers/#/search/3scale

Has two versions

• 3scale-amp20/apicast-gateway with tag 1.0
  
• 3scale-amp21/apicast-gateway with tag 1.4
  

What does 20/21 in path relate to (3scale-ampXX)?

We have 3Scale API Management as SaaS from Red Hat - which one is the best to use (or even compatible)?

Hi Joacim,

I can imagine the different versions can be confusing at times. 3Scale is not unique in that since the official Red Hat versions often differ from the upstream community projects.

Running the latest stable of APICast (v3.1.0) works fine with the SaaS. We run a couple of instances with this setup and haven't had any compatibility issues so far.

BTW great initiative to start a Google groups on 3Scale and APICast, much appreciated.

Trying to find a Docker image for 3.1.0 but https://quay.io/repository/3scale/gateway?tab=tags doesn't have these tags.

Do you use another repo?

Hi Joacim,

I've used the Docker image registry.access.redhat.com/3scale-amp21/apicast-gateway:1.4-2 which Red Hat refers to in their tutorials.

The versioning confuses me as well .. :?)
