Please post your experiences during the P/O Walk. Particularly focus
on your perception while blind folded.

I felt as if I had to rely upon my sense of touch and hearing more. I also felt afraid because of what i percieved lay ahead

I felt like that i had to rely on the my hearing and while i was
walking, when i was blind folded i relyed on the changing of the
lights in the hallways. I did not really run into walls

I was always ready 2 walk into a wall or the lockers or a window or something cause i had NO idea if i was walking in a straight line. i may have thought that i was but i wasnt. i ran into the lockers and walls and even the attendence office window. it was weird but i had 2 listen to things around me and feel around 4 a wall so i had an idea of where i was possibly going.

During the blindfolded activity, I was very anxious and nervous. I didn't think about using my sense of touch but I listened more. During the end of the walk, I started to use my hands and feel what was around me. I ran into lockers but overall it was a fun experience.

During the perception orientation, I felt nervous. I don't like having no control. I ran into a lot of things, including the drinking fountain that Sam let me run into:| I relied on the pictures I had in my head of how the school was.

At first i was doing pretty well, but then Katrina ran me into a pole and I didn't know which way I was going. It was espically hard to get back through the class door.

During the perception orientation, I felt scared because I could not see where I was going and just felt around me. I thought I knew where everything was at in this school but its harder when your blinded. I ran into a lot of things, and was scared where other people were in the halls. So this was very difficult and I did not think it would be.!

I held my hands out to see if i could feel things that were coming my way. I could never imagine being blind and going through that everyday. Also when i walked i tended to walk side ways.

during the perception orientation, i felt lost. I did not trust myself when i was walking. I was scared that I was going to run into something. I kept picturing what the school looked like so i would not feel that lost.

At first I felt confadent that I knew where I was going. Then after a few moments I started questioning myself as well as my partner. I thought I knew my suroundings. I was confused and nervious and i had the feeling of being at a disadvantage because I couldnt see where I was going. It was fun tho.

(and yes I know my spelling sucks).

During the blind folded expirement i was unsure if i could trust my partner with giving me directions. At times i was scared because i couldnt depend on my sight like i usually do. I was unsure of all my surrounding so i didnt know which way to go. It really showed me how blind people have it extremely harder than others.

It felt like i was blind. I couldnt see anything so i tend to put my head down. I reached out in the air to see if i could feel anything, but it was nothing there. So i guess i can trust my partner .

My experiences during the perception orientation walk was I was
scared, and I had to rely on my ears, hands, and partner.

At the start of being blind folded i felt safe because i knew were i was starting but as i started walking more and more i started to question to were i was actually at, so i became uncomfterbal and started walking slower and more cautious..

my experience with being blind folded was very fun. I would love to do it again because it gives you the opportunity to use your memory and perceptions of the area around you to navigate yourself.

During the P/O walk, my experience lead to be very uncomfortable. In the beginning of my walk(with the blindfold), i was nervous; I felt that i was going to run into a wall. I even felt like the walls were closing in on me. Me personally, i wouldn't want to do it again. But ill admit, it was an experience.

During the P/O walk, i was unsure whether or not my guide would lead me in the right direction.  i was also disoriented during most of the walk and began to walk sideways and ran into a few lockers.  once i took off the blindfold i felt as though i had completed very difficult math problems because my head felt as though i had been overthinking and i felt a little relieved physically.

I was the person to walk once we did the experiment.when we first began i was kinda nervous.Even though these are my friends I didn't fully trust them like i should have.I know my way around the school even thought they were guiding me by hearing i still was going according to my own instinct, regardless if I was wrong. The experiment was very uncomfortable for me,as I i would have imagined it to be.

When i did this it was crazy. I didnt know which way was straight,i was confident that i was going straight... untill i ran into the lockers. It was a fun expermient that made me relize how much i really rely on my sight and how much i really need it.

Participating in the perception walk was very fun and interesting.  Once i was blindfolded i was aware of the different functions my eyes, hands and legs were truly capable of.  In most cases i overlook the tasks that my limbs and brain must do because my alertness becomes numb throughout everyday activities.  It also gave me a chance to realize how the world is for those who cannot see.  They must depend on their walking sticks and guide dogs to help them get around.
