Please describe your vision of an American Family. It may or may not
reflect how your family looks. Please consider the universals and
norms of our culture and what was once considered The Traditional
American Family. Does yours look like that? Does it matter?

In my opinion a American family is one that is well off. What I mean by that is the family is living in a house, the kids are taking care of, and the parent (s) are not working and just barely making ends meet but sufficiently providing for his/her family. A American family is a family that doesn't get in trouble with the law and are great contributors to the community.

My family does look like the an American Family. However, our beliefs and cultures are a lot different. We are contributors to the community by sharing our views and welcoming those that are interested in our culture.

I don't think it matters if my family didn't look like the American family. There isn't just "ONE" American family. Every family is different whether it is single parent led or there is an adoptive child in the family. I think that is what makes a family unique, its difference scenarios to other families.

My vision of an American family is a mom, dad, and kids. My family
does look like that, but it doesn't matter, because everybody's vision
of an American family, and their family's different.

I would say the depiction of the traditional American family is most nearly epitomized by a caring, loving nurturing mother, a strong hardworking providing father, and obedient children. My family looks mostly the part that I described.

My vision of the american family is different from the vision of the past vision of the american family. I see different examples of the american family. When I was younger I though the perfect american family as a mom, a dad, a son, a daughter and a dog. Bu now as I see how our world is changing I see the american family as a parent and their children because there can be all different types of parents. My family is the new typical american family. My mom is a single parent and I think that there are a lot of families like this now. I don't think it matters because everyone is different.

the american family is when you have parents who care about their kids and work to support them and get the things they need to get by. In the past it has been a man and woman raising kids together and working to make money to provide for them. It is changing because it can be two guys or two girls and the family would work just fine. My family is my mom and her boyfriend who both work to provide for me, my little brother and my sister

My idea of the American family is a family of diverse heritage, few to many children, at least one parent or guardian, and the family works as a team to prosper dnd succeed in life. There are also negative circumstances in some families, however I am blessed that I have a mother and stepfather as well as my biological father all college educated doing their best to make sure u go on to greatness. I believe that the American family is a family of biological relatives and close friends and mentors affecting s child's life.

my ideal of  the traditional family is the stay at home mom that does the cooking and cleaning. The woman was the one who would get the husband and kid together to start a normal day. The father played the role of the man of the house. He was the one who worked to put food on the table and a roof over the family's head. All finally decisions were made by him. But in modern day life the these roles have intertwined and the women in the homes sometimes has just as much power as the man.

My ideal American Family would be two parents whom were married before they had children and are loving and caring. Typically the mom stays at hone and cooks and clean for her family while the dad is the provider. I personally believe moms are not limited to stay at home. Mothers can also be providers too yet still holding the household down.

My vision of an American Family is a parent and there kids, it may just be one parent, and it may be two. When I was younger I looked at the American Family as a mom, dad, and kids but now that I've gotten older, I know that it's not just that. A American Family is a family that will always be there for each other and  will work hard with each other to make the family a successful family. There to hold each other down and always be there for each other through hard times, and easy times.

An American family is a family with a Dad, Mom and siblings. the Norms of an American family is having on of each parent the father going to work and the mother staying at home. In my family i have 1 dad, 1 mom and siblings. It does not matter what your family looks like because its about how much everyone cares about each other and support each other.

The traditional american family was a mom, a dad, and a few kids. The dad worked, and the mom stayed home and took care of the kids and the house. My vision of the American Family now is a single parent and one or a few kids. The parent works and the kid(s) help out around the house. Thats basically how my family is, so maybe thats why I picture it to be like that.
