Please look at the link regarding the United States' most sleep
deprived cities. What problems are we more at risk for because of our
extreme lack of sleep? What are your thoughts

sleep is very important and if your not getting enough sleep that can result to falling asleep while driving, while, on the job, ect. studies show that not having enough sleep can lead to unethical behavior and un-attractiveness,ect.

Sleep is something your body needs to be able to function, and if your body don't get enough sleep, it's going to want to shut down on you, so you may fall asleep on the job or students may fall asleep in school, and that leads to failure. We will look like a unsuccessful city.

We are at more of a risk for falling asleep during more important times of the day. which can lead to falling asleep during the day and throwing your meal times out of whack. if you dont eat on a regular schedule that can lead to bad eating habits. it can also cause a change in your social status because you might start to lash out at people because you have been deprived of sleep.

Not sleeping leads to messed up habits like eating, which will make us obese. No sleep also leads to more sleeping during the day which makes us not focus so we cant work or function right at school. That will lead to people being fired & leading to a recession.

It was really shocking to me, that Detroit was listed number one as the most sleep deprived city. I know that Detroit is fast past city, and their is always alot going on, which can cause people to lose sleep. I myself don't always get the proper sleep that I need, which is really hard with getting up in the morning for school. The huge lack of sleep puts us at more of a risk for heart diseases, depression, obesity, and too much lack of sleep can kill you. Theres many problems that we are at risk for without the proper amount of sleep, especially with it being so unhealthy. I think its very important for us to get the proper amount of sleep that our body needs.

According to the article, Detroit is the number one city that has a high rate of loss of sleep. Having loss of sleep could lead to health problems and and even depression. In many cases, people that have good health, tend to sleep well. In our society, people that do not get enough sleep at night, in many cases, do not show a well preformance at their jobs. Studies show that the recession caused more stress on our people in many different states. Sleeping is a major thing and without it, you will not be ale to function properly.

We are more at risk for stress and depression because of our lack of sleep. I feel like we are the most sleep deprived city because I can't seem to get any sleep. I expected New York to be the most sleep deprived city.

Risks we faced being a sleep deprived nation can be quite negative and deadly. Such falling asleep while driving, or in school, or work. Sleep is a very important element in being a productive person

When people lack sleep they are more opened to being stressed and depressed. Not only does the lack of sleep influence your actions but it does have a great mpact on your health and body. It is important that people get a sufficent amount of sleep to function daily.

I believe that sleep is a vital component to having a successful and efficient day.  Sleeping is the body's opportunity to repair itself.  Resting and sleeping are similar to taking one's car in for a tune up.  If his or her car has poor maintenance it will not function properly.  The same goes for one's body.  One must allow his or her body to rest and recuperate.
Sleep deprivation can lead to irritability, depression, and poor physical health.  In many ways, sleep deprivation can cause one to die.

It did come as a shock to me that we are the city with the most deprived sleep habits. But detroit also lives a city life.we are very urban and fast paced. I wouldnt think that we would be deprived of the most sleep though being that we arent the MOST fast paced city. Sleep is very essential to the human body. When taking advantage of the fast life it coulld wear and tear on us mentally and physically whether we realize it or not.

I am not surprised that Americans have the worst sleep results in the country.  We have late night television shows that have rocket-high ratings, our fast food restaurants stay open almost 24 hours a day 7 days a week  We frown and laugh when someone mentions they have a BEDTIME: Time that many individuals wish for as they awake each morning.  When a doctor has to come on the news and express how many hours of sleep an individual should get, and people are surprised there is a serious problem.  I get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night.  Sleep is the time the body takes to repair itself.  Sleep deprivation is healing deprivation. Thus Lack of sleep is fatal.  Get it together America.
