Copying files/folders betwen S3 accounts

So I've got two totally separate Amazon S3 accounts and need to copy
some files between them. Can I use 3hub to do this and does it do a
direct copy or effectively a download and then an upload again?

Yes this should be possible (I just tried it). Its a little awkward since you can only be connected to a single account at a time but, if you:

(1) Go into account A, and select a file (or files) and select Copy.

(2) Disconnect (not exit), and go into account B.

(3) Go to a bucket and select Paste.

The file in Account A needs to be readable by Account B for it to work.
